A state-of-the-art facility with Mercedes-Benz's groundbreaking concept

Just east of Oslo, one of Norway’s largest car and import car dealers, the Bertel O. Steen Group, is now opening a brand new state-of-the-art facility. XYZDP is pleased to contribute with a groundbreaking concept.

“By the time we came in, we had already designed the house and made a shell, so we came in at the eleventh hour,” says Julia Melin, project manager at XYZDP.

Since Mercedes-Benz’s new concept, MAR2020, is so integrated into the construction itself, it is important to get in early in the process to ensure that you get the final product you want.

XYZDP provides detailed drawings of the concept and works closely with interior design supplier Senab together with the builders on site. Much is about making sure that the drawings are followed carefully so that everything is correct in the end.

“Everything is tailor-made,” says Julia Melin.

These include digital screens and new technology to create a different experience arena.

The new car facility in Lörenskog east of Oslo will be inaugurated on 15-16 January 2020 and consists of nearly 8,000 square meters of sales and office space. In addition, there are state-of-the-art workshops, well-thought-out customer receptions with a café and a private delivery center for new cars where the customer will have a very special experience when handing over a new car. The concept also includes self-service in connection with the workshop visit, which means that the service is available for the day, 7 days a week. In total, the area covers approximately 50,000 square meters.

The Bertel O. Steen Group is one of Norway’s largest car and import car dealers, with car brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Kia, Peugeot and Citroen in its portfolio. In addition, the Group has large-scale activities in car financing, engineering and real estate.

MAR2020 is Mercedes-Benz’s new concept, which has started rolling out all over the world since 2018. As the only trained architectural office on the concept in Scandinavia, XYZDP is running project implementation of MAR2020 in several locations in both Sweden, Denmark and Norway. The location in Lörenskog is one of the places.
